My working life started in 1976 as an apprentice engineer.
In 2000 I made the switch
to maintenance and gardening employed by Suffolk County Council.
By the year 2005
my position had been privatised, prompting me into working as self-employed.
Along with my son Josh we set up in business with the help of InBiz.
Throughout the year I have invested in tools, equipment and machinery.
My first year has gone extremely well and now I have gardening contracts and a good
customer base.
For my customers' piece of mind, I have Public Liability insurance and have
had a police check done.
To stop slugs and snails eating your hostas, make a band of copper
and place around plant.
If you are planning to rejuvinate a private hedge, trim as usual two of three face edges. The third one can be cut back hard. Allow one year before trimming back other faces.
Due to our changing climate, our company recommend turfing with Xeris turf which is drought resistant.
I have recently purchased a long reach hedge trimmer and larger cut lawnmower.
We are now running our third year in business. The first two years have been very successful due to an ever increasing number of garden contract customers.
After just over 2 years service our van has had to be replaced by a better and more economical diesel vehicle.
Throughout this year we have plans to continue with the ever increasing quantity of equipment, all of which is to save time and money.
